Redmen up to 4th in state baseball poll
The Bellevue Redmen have jumped from 11th to fourth Division II in the latest state baseball poll, released Monday by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association.
After wins against two opponents, Sandusky (16th in Division I) and Columbian (22nd in Division II), receiving votes in last week’s poll on Tuesday and Thursday, the Redmen (15–3) climbed seven spots. Last week, in the first poll of the season, the Redmen sat in the 11th position with a 13–3 record.
Not factored into Monday’s poll is Bellevue’s 3–1 win Friday over the No. 4 team in Division I, the Ashland Arrows, who entered their game against Bellevue unbeaten at 14–0.
Seneca East sits at 14th in Monday’s poll.
From the Northern Ohio League, the Norwalk Truckers are ranked 10th in Division I, the Sandusky Blue Streaks received two points in Division I and Columbian is tied for 22nd in Division II. Future NOL member Ontario (15–0) is the No. 1 team in Division III.
