Foos wins state title in rifling
ERIE Twp. — Ian Foos, of Bellevue, won the junior title at the 2012 Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association Highpower State Championship over the weekend at Camp Perry near Port Clinton.
Foos compiled the best aggregate score after winning each of the four junior matches, during the start of his major highpower matches. He had been shooting in smaller club matches to get tuned up.
At 200 yards, standing, 20 shots slow fire, he scored a 192 10 bulls eyes (X); at 200 yards, sitting rapid fire, he scored 196 14X; at 300 yards, prone rapid fire, 194 4x; and 600 yards, slow fire prone, 176 1X.
Foos’ aggregate score of 758 29X secured him the state title. He score was also third overall including the adult competitions.
He was also asked to to be on the state highpower team and accepted.
Foos is aiming at a national title at the August championships at Camp Perry.
