Foos wins state title in rifling

ERIE Twp. — Ian Foos, of Belle­vue, won the junior title at the 2012 Ohio Rifle and Pis­tol Asso­ci­a­tion High­power State Cham­pi­onship over the week­end at Camp Perry near Port Clinton.

Foos com­piled the best aggre­gate score after win­ning each of the four junior matches, dur­ing the start of his major high­power matches. He had been shoot­ing in smaller club matches to get tuned up.

At 200 yards, stand­ing, 20 shots slow fire, he scored a 192 10 bulls eyes (X); at 200 yards, sit­ting rapid fire, he scored 196 14X; at 300 yards, prone rapid fire, 194 4x; and 600 yards, slow fire prone, 176 1X.

Foos’ aggre­gate score of 758 29X secured him the state title. He score was also third over­all includ­ing the adult competitions.

He was also asked to to be on the state high­power team and accepted.

Foos is aim­ing at a national title at the August cham­pi­onships at Camp Perry.
