Bellevue's Orshoski state co-coach of year
From staff reports
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Bellevue Lady Red coach Ryan Orshoski earned the top honor in the state Monday by being named coach of the year for Division II, as the 2012–13 All-Ohio girls basketball teams were released by the Associated Press.
Orshoski shared the award with Millersburg West Holmes coach Lisa Patterson. On Friday he was the Division II Coach of the Year in the Northwest District.
This season Orshoski guided the Lady Red (20–4) to a third straight Northern Ohio League championship, a third consecutive sectional title and a third straight district appearance, with just one starter and three letterwinners returning from last season’s team.
Orshoski is the only coach in Bellevue girls basketball history to win 20 or more games in multiple seasons.
He will enter next season needing eight wins to become the all-time leader in coaching wins in Lady Red history.
