ICS plans ‘Connect to Kindergarten’ event
All area children with birthdates prior to Aug. 1, and their parents are invited to “Connect to Kindergarten!” at Immaculate Conception School on Tuesday, March 19.
During the program, parents will learn how to best prepare their children academically, socially and spiritually for the kindergarten year.
Children attending will spend time with professional staff.
“We’ll have activities in gross and fine motor skills and general knowledge,” ICS Kindergarten teacher, Jane Fox, said. “Too, they will meet with our school speech therapist for speech screening.”
In addition, children will spend time with the school nurse for vision and hearing screening.
“Our school registration begins on March 3,” ICS Principal, Karen Malcolm said.
“Parents who wish to register their children to our school will need to bring their child’s birth certificate, baptismal certificate, immunization records and custody and/or legal guardianship papers.”
Immaculate Conception School, located at 304 E. Broad St., is a Kindergarten through eighth grade Catholic school.
The faculty and staff at Immaculate Conception School promote the Catholic faith, teachings, morals and values through the total education of the each child.
“We are dedicated to fostering an atmosphere that encourages the development of each child’s uniqueness,” Malcolm said.
