York School's very last day

Demolition began on York School weeks ago, first inside and then finally out. On Friday, contractors began knocking down the original building and by 4 p.m. it was a mound of rubble. York School is the last of Bellevue City School to be demolished as part of the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission project after the new buildings were opened in 2012.

As a 1963 graduate of York School, attending from first grade through 12th, I am feeling rather nostalgic. It was quite a good education with many good teachers and much individual attention. Long live York School. Go Panthers!
