The Volunteers to perform at BSA
The Volunteers — The United States Army Field Band’s rock, pop and country group — will perform at the Bellevue Society for the Arts at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 5.
Tickets are required to attend the 90-minute concert at the theater, located at 205 Maple St.
Tickets, however, are free by mailing a self-addressed, stamped envelop and coupon from inside today’s newspaper to PO Box 309, Bellevue, 44811.
The event is being co-sponsored by The Bellevue Society for the Arts and The Bellevue Gazette.
Seating capacity allows for 342 people to attend the concert.
There will be general seating the evening of the concert.
This is the same band which performed at the Clyde High School Auditorium in July 20111– sponsored by the Gazette’s sister newspaper, The Clyde Enterprise.
Gazette managing editor Becky Brooks said the group contacted her about returning to Clyde again this summer as she had coordinated the concerts for The Clyde Enterprise in previous years.
“The CHS auditorium was not available so I called members of the BSA to ask if they would co-sponsor this outstanding band. The BSA agreed and I called The Volunteers’ representative and asked if they would come to Bellevue.
“The military group was happy to come to another small community. Since then, their front team has visited Bellevue and checked out the BSA theater,” she reported.
“This group is as good as any live band you’ve heard, and it is a free event, if you get your tickets early. The Gazette is very happy to bring The Volunteers to the community, and we hope we pack the theater,” Brooks added.
The Volunteers is a six-piece band that has performed for millions of listeners throughout America and overseas. The group performs annually at Disney’s Epcot Center for its Memorial Day celebration.
Free tickets — limited to four per coupon — will be distributed by mail as requests are received.
