York Alumni to gather

The annual York Alumni Ban­quet for grad­u­ates of the for­mer York High School will be held Sat­ur­day, April 28, begin­ning at 6 p.m. in the Belle­vue VFW Hall, U.S. 20 East. Ear­lier in the day, an Open House will be held at York School, U.S. 20 West, from 2–4 p.m. The school, which cur­rently houses grades three to five, will be closed at the con­clu­sion of the cur­rent school year and even­tu­ally torn down.

An auc­tion of York mem­o­ra­bilia will be held for alumni at the evening ban­quet. All pro­ceeds will ben­e­fit the con­struc­tion of the HOPE pavil­ion to be built at the new ele­men­tary school, which will open in August.

In addi­tion, Cat’s Meows (wooden repli­cas) of York School will be avail­able for $15 at the open house and banquet.
