New adult education classes are available
Bellevue Adult Education Program for 2012–13 will offer classes for Session 3 which will begin Feb. 25 at either Bellevue High School or Bellevue Middle School.
The Bellevue City School District is excited to be able to offer a low cost adult education program for adults in the surrounding area looking to learn a new skill or hobby. Being a life-long learner is something that we try to instill in all of our students and this is a way to help meet this goal.
All classes meet on Mondays between 6–8 p.m. unless adjusted to meet the needs of the course. Refer to the course description for additional information.
To register:
Complete the registration form (attached). Mail to the address below or bring the form to the Board of Education office between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. with your tuition payment. All registrations must be accompanied by full payment.
Make checks payable to: Bellevue City Schools.
Registration deadline for Session 3 is Feb. 20.

Classes for Session 3 begin on Feb. 25 at either Bellevue High School or Bellevue Middle School. Check each course description for details.
All classes offered will depend on sufficient enrollment. You will be notified if the class is canceled and money will be refunded.
Registration is open to all area residents over 18 years of age who do not attend regular school.
No refunds will be made after the first scheduled class meeting.
Important: Classes will not meet when Bellevue City Schools is not in session for weather-related reasons. If in doubt, contact the Board of Education office at 419–484-5049.

Course Offerings
Financial Planning 101: Instructors, Doug Gildenmeister and Jim Davis, Wealth Management and Consulting Group of Raymond James. Room: Bellevue Middle School Room: A210. Starting Date: Feb. 25. Tuition: $25.
This course will focus on what individuals need to do in order to meet their financial goals at retirement, how to evaluate risk in their investments and to be able to manage their risk. What part life insurance and annuities play in their financial planning and how to employ long term strategies that have a proven track record of success.
Any additional cost for supplies will be paid directly to the instructor.
Basics of Welding: instructor, Jeff Karcher, BHS Agricultural Science Teacher. Room: BHS Agricultural Science Classroom. Starting Date: Feb. 25. Tuition: $30.
This class is designed for the person with little to no welding knowledge. Students will learn the basics of correctly applying and interpreting welding symbols and prints. Select proper welding processes, equipment and accessories. Become knowledgeable in welding terminology and processes and how they apply to the modern day workforce. Students are required to wear the appropriate clothing to participate.

Sewing: Instructor, Dawn Martin-Shultz, BHS Family and Consumer Science Teacher. Room: Bellevue High School Room 22. Starting Date: Feb. 25. Tuition: $25.
For those who have little to no sewing experience, this class is for you. Learn how to properly operate a sewing machine and choose appropriate fabrics and notions for class projects. Basic sewing techniques will be the focus of this class. You will learn the basics of sewing like reading a pattern, pattern layout and cutting, hand sewing and sewing simple seams. You will work on the selected class project together in order to master sewing techniques together. You will need to purchase your supplies for each project and a supply list will be sent prior to the first class and provided prior to each subsequent project, if applicable.
Living a Healthy Life: Instructors, Mandi King and Patti Keller, Bellevue Hospital. Room: Bellevue Middle School Room: A118. Starting Date: Feb. 25. Tuition: $25.
This class is designed for adults of all ages who are interested in living a healthy life. The focus will be on planning and creating healthy meals along with learning age appropriate exercises, so that participants will be able to create an exercise program that will best benefit their needs.
