Council members assigned to 2013 boards, committees

Belle­vue City Coun­cil voted to appoint Coun­cil­man Ron Smith as pres­i­dent pro tem for 2013 to serve over the body should Coun­cil Pres­i­dent Karen Jus­tice be absent.

Also on Mon­day night, Jus­tice assigned coun­cil com­mit­tees for the new year.

She said dur­ing a work ses­sion on that the com­mit­tees would not be chang­ing from 2012.

Assign­ments are as follows:

•Bud­get and Finance: Chair­per­son Rose Mary Nascone, John Miller and Ron Smith.

•Pub­lic Safety: Chair­per­son Rick Sanders, Steve Hill and Peggy Missler

•Pub­lic Util­i­ties: Chair­per­son Peggy Missler, John Miller and Rick Sanders.

•Park and Recre­ation: Chair­per­son Steve Hill, Rose Mary Nascone, and Peggy Missler.

•Indus­trial Deveop­ment: Chair­man John Miller, Rick Sanders and Rise Henry.

•Pub­lic Works: Chair­per­son Rise Henry, Ron Smith and Rick Sancers.

•Streets & Side­walks: Chair­per­son Ron Smith, Rise Henry and Steve Hill.

Also on Mon­day, the coun­cil approved Mayor Don­ald Berkey’s board and com­mis­sion appoint­ments for 2013 for expired or vacant positions.

Those include:

•Com­mu­nity Rein­vest­ment Hous­ing Coun­cil, Dou­glas Gilden­meis­ter, 126 Mead­owlark Drive.

•Down­town Belleveue Arthitech­tual Design Stan­dard Board, Jill Van Fleet, 620 Castalia St.

•Recre­ation Board, Eve­lyn Woodruff, 118 Mead­owlark Drive.

•Shade Tree Com­mis­sion, Charles Claus, 209 Lawrence St., and Keith Robin­son, 206 Hamil­ton St.

•Board of Zon­ing Appeals, Charles Hart, 109 Parkview Place and Jan Ter­Veen, 305 Dou­glas Drive.
