The Clyde Lions’ Chicken Bar-B-Que held May 15, was a huge success, according to a report. Despite the weathe,r the Lion’s were able to raise a good amount of money to put towards the skate park in Clyde.
Club members received donations and assistance from the following businesses: Arby’s, Clyde Pro Hardware, Clyde-Findlay Area Credit Union, Clyde Community Park, Eshleman Fruit Farm, Foos & Foos Funeral Home, Clyde FFA, The Calico Cat, Pete DiCesare, Ron Meade, and Benchmark Prints.
The Clyde Lions Club welcomed other Lions Clubs in its district, whihc made it to the Chicken Bar-B-Que to show their support of the local endeavors.
The Clyde Lions Club also held their first anniversary dinner June 22. The dinner was held at the Community Park Shelter House and was a potluck with meat being provided by the club. Members and their families were welcomed.
The new officers for the 2011-2012 year were also installed at the anniversary dinner. President, Larry Bower; 1st vice president, Dick O’Donnell; 2nd vice president, Ken Dick; 3rd vice president, Mike Herner; secretary, Angie Dick; treasurer, Teresa Elfring; directors, Phil Gasa, Jackie Bower, Maggie Pearce and Brian Foos; membership coordinator, Mae Gasa.
Anyone interested in joining The Clyde Lions Club may attend a meeting, which are 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month at Clyde Pro Hardware.
