Students portray Shawnee Americans Monday afternoon at Bellevue Middle School as part of the “Paths to Peace: War of 1812 Legacy Project”. Eighth graders at BMS created an original drama and art performance as part of a project celebrating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. The project is being sponsored by the Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial, The National Park Service and Arttrain Inc. The students will be traveling via the Jet Express to Fort Malden, Canada on May 17 where the performance will be shared with their Canadian partners.
