Another week gone. This one was a short one, so it really went fast.
Tonight is Saturday Night Cards night at Four County Young at Heart. I hope a lot of you can make it out to play euchre or pinochle. As always, the doors open at 6:30 and play begins at 7 p.m. Lunch is included in the price of admission. Bring a friend or two. They don’t have to be members to play on Saturday nights.
Members of NARVRE will be having a catered dinner/meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at noon.
The Friday Lunch Bunch will not be meeting on Friday, Sept. 14.
Members of the Board and Anniversary Committee will be coming in on Friday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. to start setting things up for our big celebration on Sunday, Sept. 16.
Monday, Sept. 10 is the last day to sign up for this all free event which includes lunch, lots of drawings and great entertainment that will be provided by Dottie Pickering and The Harmonica Man.
A few insights about growing older:
1. I finally got my head together, now by body is falling apart.
2. Funny, I don’t remember being absent minded.….
3. If all is not lost, where is it?
4. If God had wanted me to touch my toes, he would have put them on my knees.
5. It’s not hard to meet expenses.…they’re everywhere.
6. These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter.…I go somewhere to get something and then I wonder what I’m here after.
Have a great week — J.
