Senior Citizens' Corner
Sign up to celebrate anniversary
By JOANNE AUSTIN, director
Four County Young-At-Heart
Senior Center
It’s the last week of August. Schools are back in session, the football season is here, the nights have been cooler and we have had some beautiful skies lately. I’m sure we will have a lot more summer days, but as fast as time flies, it will be fall before we know it.
The Board of Trustees will meet this Monday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m.
The crafters will once again be coming in at 10 a.m. this week and once again they will be working in their room.
Health checks with a nurse from The Bellevue Hospital will be done here at the center on Tuesday from noon until 1:30 p.m. This time she will be doing free glucose and blood pressures. Stop in and see her.
The Friday Lunch Bunch will be having hot dogs, macaroni salad, pickles and chips, plus dessert.
President Bernie Hartman and his wife Karen recently returned from Germany where they attended the wedding of their son. I’m told they had a wonderful time. We are glad to see them home again, safe and sound.
Sign Up: Get your reservations in for our 40th anniversary celebration, which will be held on Sept. 16 from 1–4 p.m. We will be having good food, good prizes, good entertainment and good give-a-ways. We want to have as many members as we can celebrating with us on our special day.
The Tongue: The human tongue is only a few inches from the brain, but, when some people talk, they seem miles apart.
Have a great week. J.
