Big band era showcased at dinner

Monday is our August catered dinner/meeting. It seems as though we just had our July dinner, but, here we are. Remember that if you have a reservation, that’s all you need. Everything else will be provided.
Our musical entertainment will be provided by Judy Crawford. Her program will feature music from the ‘40s and the big band era. Am I showing my age when I tell you that I love this kind of music?
Also, coming up fast is Saturday Night Cards. Keep next Saturday open for this.
The Friday Lunch Bunch will be ordering in this week.
Don’t forget to get your reservation in for our 40th Anniversary celebration. It’s not until Sept. 16, but, I have a list started of those who want to join us on our special day. We will be serving a complimentary luncheon, have entertainment, drawings and give aways.
A doctor had a problem with a leak in his bathroom plumbing that became bigger and bigger. Even though it was 2 a.m., the doctor decided to call his plumber.
“For Pete’s sake, Doc,” the plumber wailed, “this is some time to wake a guy.”
“Well,” the doctor answered testily, “You’ve never hesitated to call me in the middle of the night with a medical problem. Now it just happens I’ve got a plumbing emergency.”
There was a moment’s silence. Then, the plumber spoke up, “Right you are Doc,” he agreed, “Tell me what’s wrong.”
The doctor explained about the leak in the bathroom.
“I’ll tell you what to do,” the plumber offered. “Take two aspirin every four hours and drop them down the pipe. If the leak hasn’t cleared up by morning, call me at the office.”
Talk to you later — J.
