Senior Citizens' Corner

Think of each
who gave…

By JOANNE AUSTIN, director
Four County Young-At-Heart
Senior Center
Monday is Memorial Day. Four County Young at Heart will be closed all day and there will be no Home Delivered Meals. I hope that you all have a safe holiday weekend and remember WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE A VETERAN’S GRAVE, THINK NOT OF ONE BUT OF EACH WHO GAVE.
Our June catered dinner/meeting will be held on Monday, June 4, at noon. Oops! did you sign up yet? You have until May 30.
The nurse from the Bellevue Hospital will be here on Tuesday, May 29, for health checks. This month’s include free blood pressures and cholesterol checks for $10. She will be here from noon until 1:30 p.m.
The Lunch Bunch ladies will once again be ordering in this week. I don’t know what they have in mind.
You Might Be An Old-timer if:
1. You can remember when a child had more brothers and sisters than fathers.
2. You remember when we counted our blessings instead of our calories.
3. You remember when a woman looked the same after washing her face.
4. You remember when the most popular family on the block had a television set.
From Lee Greenwood:
And I’m proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me…
Be safe — J.
