WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) — The Liz Claiborne clothing company plans to close a distribution center in southwest Ohio, affecting hundreds of workers.
Liz Claiborne Inc. spokeswoman Dana Stambaugh tells the Middletown Journal that the facility in the Cincinnati suburb of West Chester will shut down within the year because of "changing business needs."
Local officials say that 600 people work at the distribution center, which opened in 2002. West Chester Township Board of Trustees President Catherine Stoker tells the newspaper she's hopeful Liz Claiborne will sell the facility to another company that will fill it with jobs.
